Beachport is located 380km south of Adelaide and about
570 km west of Melbourne. The town was founded by whalers in the 1830’s. It is now a peaceful beachside town with rock lobster fishing being the towns staple industry. The beachport jetty is 700m long, one of the longest jetties in South Australia. A great place to do some fishing with the kids, watch the cray boats unload or just take a walk. The pool of siloam is a unique town attraction. It is an ideal swimming spot as the salt concentration is seven times greater than the sea, creating great buoyancy. Lake George is a great windsurfing spot, it is also home to a wide variety of bird species and is a great place for a quiet walk in the bush. The town itself boasts great tourist services such as:
